๐ Ride-hail and taxi rides, from the back seat
๐ Ride-hail trips now come in a sleek compact sedan (silver, white or grey) with a chrome grille, slim LED lamps, a light bar across the boot and a glowing โ RIDE badge in the back window. ๐ช Ride view puts you in the back seat, over your shoulder: you're on your phone, typing and looking out of the window now and then, while the driver keeps both hands on the wheel, making small corrections, and glances at the GPS on his phone in its dash cradle. The car thumps softly over the expansion joints. ๐ In the late afternoon the sun is low and golden: long window-frame shadows slide over the seats and a lens flare glides across the dash. Taxis get the same: the back seat, the driver, the GPS cradle.
