✈️ Cadet Pilots fly for real

2026-10-16 · Accra Life update #288

✈️ Cadet Pilot shifts now happen in the cockpit of the Accra Flight Academy trainer (9G-AFA): two glass screens (artificial horizon, speed and altitude, a moving map of the Accra coast and the engine gauges), steel switches, two yokes and your instructor in the right seat. You wear the white uniform with epaulets, silver wings and a headset. Your shift is a whole flight: the pre-flight checklist on the clipboard (battery, fuel pump, beacon, avionics… each switch flicks on), "Clear prop!", taxi to runway 21, take-off, a climb to 3,000 ft and turns over Accra, then the landing. 👀 Work view during your shift; 🎥 switches between over the shoulder, your eyes, facing you and outside the plane.
