⛏️ Tarkwa: the gold town
⛏️ Ghana's fourth city is open: Tarkwa, the gold town of the Western Region. Take the 🚌 VIP coach from Kaneshie (about 4 hours), Kotokuraba in Cape Coast (under 2 hours) or Kejetia in Kumasi. Make money from gold the legal way: work at the big open-pit 🏗️ Gold Mine (Mine Labourer → Mine Manager), or get a 📜 small-scale mining licence at the Minerals Commission and dig your own pit at Prestea, selling to the licensed gold buyer. Or risk 🕳️ galamsey at the Bonsa River (18+): more gold, but it's dirty cash you must launder, the police can catch you any time, and now and then the task force raids the river and arrests nearly everyone 🚨. Study at UMaT, see the manganese hills at Nsuta, spend payday at Tarkwa Park. Rooms and houses in Tamso and Abosso, 50 shop spots and 7 warehouses are up for grabs.
