🏛️ City taxes: income tax and property rate
The Accra Metropolitan Assembly now collects 5% income tax (PAYE) from wages, and a weekly property rate of 0.5% of a home's value from owners every Saturday. It all goes to the city treasury, which pays for the Mayor's policies. A Mayor can bring in a 🧾 Tax cut (PAYE 2%).
